Old Trafford Wellbeing Centre

As a community hub, our strength lies in connecting people to the resources which support wellbeing in Old Trafford. The centre provides creative opportunities for social interaction and a culture of learning, encouraging individuals to try something new or rediscover an old interest, or take on a new responsibility or challenge. A volunteer plays a very important role here, complementing the work of staff and enabling us to enrich, and improve and extend our range of services. Meet new people and make new friends, learn new skills and build confidence, look at a possible new career direction and gain a chance to contribute to the community.


Social Media Volunteer

Outline of Role and Tasks:We need someone who can work with the Bluesci team to promote and share what’s taking place at Old Trafford Wellbeing Centre this includes; regular tweeting, regular Facebook updates, providing information for upload onto the website.

The skills you need:

  • Happy to work on your own initative.
  • Good IT and social media skills
  • Good communication skills

Hours/Days required: Flexible.

Times: Flexible

IT Support Volunteer

Outline of Roles and Tasks: Supporting individual to become computer literate. Guided by an individuals need this may include helping someone to set up an email account, understand how to use a MS Office programme or search the internet and complete an online form. The role is very much about encouraging individuals to feel confident in using and understanding computer technology.

The skills you need:

  • Good IT skills
  • Good communication skills

Hours/Days Required:We have vacancies Monday to Thursday.

We would prefer that you can offer at least two sessions each week.  This can be discussed during our first meeting

As a first step of this process we require you to disclose any criminal convictions you may have, including those considered 'spent' under the Rehabilitation of Offenders act 1974, or any police action pending. Please be assured that disclosure of a criminal conviction will not necessarily prejudice your application. If you do not have any convictions please write ‘none’ in the space provided

Community Groups

The community groups who operate from the building always need more support pop in and have a word with them or email your  interest using the Contact Us page and we will pass on your details.

Don’t forget: if you want support to start a new group let us know and we can help you set up a committee and apply for funds.
